Brighouse Regeneration
Brighouse is undergoing a major transformation. Almost ยฃ20m is being used to update the town centre area, introduce pedestrianisation and change nearby roads and greenways.
The project is fairly controversial and there are many views and opinions being expressed.
I am running a long term project to document the changes to Brighouse and to tell the stories of the people impacted by the work. I’m using photography and videography.
If you see me with my camera feel free to say hello and if you have a story or opinion you’d like to share on film please get in touch via email richard@langford.pics
You can see some of the images captured during the project by following the these links:
Brighouse town centre before phase one begins:
The town is exceptionally well used and i had to get up early to get these pictures. The images show the condition of the towns roads and pavements, they are a patchwork quilt of roadworks scars, potholes and missing flags that have been replaced with tarmac. The surfaces are uneven and something needs to be done to bring the town centre upto standard. The Transformation works that have been panned to start in Jan 2026 not only bring the prospect of pedestrianisation of some areas, but also will make the area look nicer and safer.

As the work progresses more images from each phase will be added to this page.
